Going ahead for a few kilometers following via Nazionale (State Highway n. 28 to Nava and Turin), you get to the intersection towards Borgo ( 83 mt. above the sea level), an hamlet on the right side of the creek Impero that you can pass tanks a concrete bridge, one time in steel.
At the bottom of the small village , the ancient Counts Ricardi’s palace arise, unfortunately deprived, not long time ago, of its rich external stucco ornament. The main inhabited area is characterized by the presence of the nice San Michele church (rebuild in 1728-1737 in Baroque style, perhaps by architect Marvaldi) and the abandoned oratory.
On the main square, wide demolition following the 1887 earthquake have changed a lot the original area plan. Erst from Borgo D’Oneglia the old mule track got started towards St.Agata (nowadays directly linked to Imperia thanks to an independent road), an important built-up area , even though it has never recognize as an independent municipality, developed around the church, built in Baroque style at the beginning of the 18th century.
From the massive Marchioness Ricardi’s building you can enjoy an exceptional panoramic glimpse of Oneglia and Capo Berta.
